SRC Meeting Date Changed!
Originally, the next School Reform Commission (SRC) meeting – the one that would focus on Imagine 2014 – was supposed to be on Wednesday, April 8 at 2pm. The vote was supposed to be on Wednesday, April 15.
But… they changed it.
Wednesday, April 8 will be the swearing in of the new SRC members. There will be no public testimony.
The planning meeting during which people will have a chance to testify about Imagine 2014 will now be on Wednesday, April 15 at 2pm. The SRC will vote on the plan on Wednesday, April 22 at 6pm.
We’re really sorry that the District unexpectedly changed the date. We hope you can come out on the 15th. Since the meeting may be crowded, we suggest that you try to arrive starting at 1pm. (Note: we will no longer be providing a bus from the office to the SRC meeting.)
Why is it important to come out to this meeting? The key topic will be Imagine 2014, the District’s new strategic plan. This plan includes a proposal to close 10 schools for the fall of 2010 and turn some over to outside providers. We need people to come out to show their concerns about the plan.
All SRC meetings take place at the School District headquarters – 44o N. Broad St, 2nd Floor Auditorium.
We need your support, and hope to see you there.
