SUMMER PROGRAM - BUILDING A YOUTH MOVEMENT

Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow

Any summer at the Philadelphia Student Union wouldn’t be complete without our organizing and leadership institute, BAYM: Building a Youth Movement. This past year, we have expanded BAYM from one week to a six week program. This will allow Philadelphia Student Union members more time and space to develop their political education, leadership skills, and organizing acumen, while also deepening our relationship to the West Philadelphia community and connecting our school-based struggles to the life of our neighborhood.

Members of BAYM are able to partake in media literacy programs that help their understanding of media in an organizing world, and help them understand the importance of teamwork through a collaborative opportunity with Scribe Video Center.
